Driving to The Corner Country

For some, the Corner Country maybe a destination but as the old adage says, 'there is no such thing as a destination, only a journey', and the Corner offers many great touring routes that can be included as part of a larger journey.

The Corner Country is a lot more than a travel objective; it is a journey through time, history, cultures, and spirituality of the Outback.

Many travellers in Australia don't venture into the outback preferring to hug the coast, which by the way is pretty nice as well, but there is so much to see and experience in the outback. The Corner Country of Australia is easily accessible (right vehicle and correct preparation) and can provide a wonderful contrast to a coastal tour of Australia.

  • Having travelled often throughout the Outback NSW region over the last decade or so, I tend to like the ‘road less travelled’. While adventure touring routes may take longer, it is more about the journey than the destination and there are always some great side-trips that can be incorporated. One of my favourite a...

  • The Corner Country, just the name conjures up images of the iconic nature of outback Australia and Cameron Corner, the point at which three States meet is the pinnacle of outback adventures. Driving to the Corner is a challenge (sometimes of the mind, sometimes of the ability, sometimes of the vehicle, and often a...
